Stayed at Rocky Top Campground, almost at the border of Tennessee and Virginia. A small, but neatly kept campground. This day and stay taught us a couple of lessons.
Lesson number one, five hundred miles is too long to travel in one day. We arrived at the campground late, but still before it closed and before the thunderstorm. The trailer did well in the storm and we slept through it. Lesson number two, the sewer hose needs weight to hold it down. Oops! No worries, all was fine.
It's getting easier to get things done, and for one-night stays, pull-through sites are much better. We are about to cross the Virginia border on our way home today. Looks like we might just have survived our first trip!
On an added note, I will say that the rolling hills of Virginia, with all it's greenery and diverse vegetation, are refreshing and plain beautiful. Virginia is really an awesome state.
